Aston Villa will field an Under-21 team in the Papa John’s Trophy once again in the 2021/22 season.
The draw has pitted Villa against League One sides Burton Albion, Milton Keynes Dons and Wycombe Wanderers in Southern Group C.
Led by Under-23s boss Mark Delaney, last year’s competition was a valuable experience for the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Brad Young and several of the team that went onto win the FA Youth Cup.
