Jack Grealish has spoken of his excitement ahead of England’s eagerly-anticipated Euro 2020 round of 16 tie against Germany.

The Three Lions are preparing for Tuesday’s huge showdown at Wembley having secured top spot in Group D.

Villa captain Grealish was handed his first start of the tournament earlier this week against Czech Republic and duly provided the crucial assist for Raheem Sterling to head home the only goal of the game in the 12th minute.

And Grealish is now looking ahead to next week’s crunch clash against Germany, with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.

“I can’t wait,” he told England’s Lions’ Den.

“These are the games that you dream of being involved in.

“Tickets are like gold dust, I’ve had so many people asking me.

“I think, for all of us, it’s the games where you really do make a name for yourself and if I could be involved it would be a dream come true.

“And something that I would grab with both hands.”

Grealish enjoyed his first start at a major international tournament against Czech Republic on Tuesday, having stepped off the bench as a second-half substitute against Scotland in the previous encounter.

Villa team-mate Tyrone Mings has featured in all three of England’s group matches, with Gareth Southgate’s unbeaten side having collected seven points and yet to concede a goal.

And Grealish admits it’s good to now be enjoying a week-long break ahead of facing Germany for a place in the last eight.

“It’s nice because it gives us time to rest a little bit after the game just (against Czech Republic),” he added.

“We had a day off and then it gives us a few days now building up to that game to go through tactics.

“It’s something we all felt like we needed because if you do get through then I’m sure it’s game after game again.”
