Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah says Aston Villa is "the perfect place" to further her career after signing for the club on a two-year deal.

The 25-year-old has arrived in the West Midlands having progressed through the youth ranks at hometown club Everton.

The fast-paced attacking player can be deployed anywhere across the frontline and is looking forward to a new challenge in claret and blue.

“It feels good. It’s a great club. For a new step and a new challenge in my career, this is the perfect place to come,” said Boye-Hlorkah excitedly.

“I was at Everton for a long time, but (now) it’s about showing people who I am.

“A lot of people know my name, but they don’t know what I’m capable of.

“Coming to Villa has given me a new slate to go and perform and show people what I’m about.

“I’m glad I’m on that journey with them.”

The attack-minded player knows the English game well, of course, and is hoping for her new team-mates to benefit from past experiences.

“I’ve spent most of my career in the WSL,” she said.

“It’s a very competitive league. I’ve been part of a lot of games and I know what you can and can’t do.

“I’ll bring calmness. I’ve got a lot of passion as well; I can bring that along.

“I can bring my character into the team and help us grow.”

Boye-Hlorkah joins Alisha Lehmann, Remi Allen, Sarah Mayling, Meaghan Sargeant and Hannah Hampton in putting pen to paper at the club this summer.

And despite coming in as a fresh face, she is ready to show the returning Villa fans what they’ve been missing over the past year.

“I’ve got a lot of loyalty to football and I’ll have a lot of loyalty to this club as well,” said Boye-Hlorkah defiantly.

“It will be exciting to see the fans and let them see what I’m about.”
