Louie Barry has been shortlisted for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for January.
The young striker enjoyed a memorable month for the Under-23s, kicking on after netting his first senior goal in the FA Cup third round against Liverpool.
A week after scoring against Jurgen Klopp’s Reds, Barry was on target from the penalty spot against West Brom in a 2-1 win.
Later in the month, the forward notched two more penalty kicks as he scored a hat-trick to inspire Mark Delaney’s Young Lions past Norwich City 3-2.

Barry is up against Folarin Balogun (Arsenal), Ethan Bristow (Reading), Kion Etete (Tottenham Hotspur), Rhys Hughes (Everton), Joe Hugill (Manchester United) and Jacob Wakeling (Leicester City) for the award.
The shortlist was chosen by the Premier League’s Football Development Panel, after PL2 club coaches picked out the best performance by an opposing player in each of their league matches in the month. The panel will also select the winner.
Good luck, Louie!
