Delighted Jacob Ramsey reflected on his superb solo goal at Norwich City which put Aston Villa on their way to a 2-0 victory.

The Villa midfielder embarked on a surging run from the halfway line, escaping several yellow and green shirts before slamming home a powerful strike and duly celebrating in front of the club's travelling faithful.

It was the Academy graduate’s second senior goal in claret and blue, with his individual effort at Carrow Road coming after his impressive finish at Arsenal earlier this season.

And, having seen his recent strike against Leicester City chalked off by VAR, Ramsey admitted he cannot wait to finally bag his maiden goal at Villa Park.

He told VillaTV: “I saw Ollie (Watkins), he laid the ball into me.

“I looked up and saw no-one was around so I thought ‘why not go for goal?’

“It was a good strike on my weak foot.”

Ramsey added: “I just need that goal at Villa Park now, I’ve had two goals away from home.

“But the Villa Park goal is coming.”
