GALLERY: Open training session

Aston Villa supporters enjoyed an open training session at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon, with the start of the 2021/22 Premier League season just seven days away.

Following the cancellation of the club’s scheduled pre-season fixture against Sevilla, fans who had purchased tickets were invited to attend free of charge as the Villans continued preparations for the new campaign.

More than 8,000 fans were at Villa Park to watch the training session and hear from the likes of Dean Smith and Craig Shakespeare live on the pitch, as well as summer signings Emiliano Buendía, Ashley Young and Danny Ings.

There was also plenty of entertainment, freebies and competitions to keep everyone entertained, with some lucky supporters getting their hands on the club’s new home and away signed shirts and signed footballs.
