What a great start to Villa's 2020/21 campaign!

Played one, won one has a very good ring to it, and excellent league debuts for Emiliano Martinez (£4.5m), Matty Cash (£5.0m) and Ollie Watkins (£6.0m) were the icing on the cake.

So, onwards and upwards for the Villans, with a Monday evening trip to newly-promoted Fulham next on the agenda.

Jack of All Teams

If you've not found a way to get Jack Grealish (£7.0m) into your Fantasy Premier League (FPL) side yet, then it really is time to make that move.

The skipper was immense against Sheffield United, finishing joint-top for both chances created and goal attempts (three) and leading the way for successful passes in the final third (33) and penalty area touches (15).

Seeing off the Blades was a huge win, providing a great platform going into Gameweek 3 and the Fulham fixture.

Grealish finished last season like a train – among current midfielders, only Raheem Sterling (£11.5m) and Mohamed Salah (£12.1m) had more attempts than his 12 across the final four fixtures, while only three of his positional peers could better the skipper's nine chances created.

And if you fancy a second consecutive clean sheet from the Villans, that man Martinez is already looking like a great choice at his price-point in FPL.

A clean sheet, penalty save and bonus points were the stuff of fantasy dreams for a keeper, and a quick look at last season's stats – when he made nine appearances for Arsenal – confirms that Dean Smith has secured a real talent.

Martinez finished the campaign with a save percentage of 81% - only Tottenham's Hugo Lloris (£5.5m and 81.8%) could better that.

Ezri Konsa also looks like a great defensive option, starting the season with a matchwinning goal, a clean sheet and all three bonus points - netting him a 15-point haul.

During the match, Konsa made 37 passes, 32 of which were successful - that’s an 86% success rate. He also won seven out of nine aerial duels and scored 100% for tackles won.

At £4.5m he looks like a fantastic option for the coming Gameweeks.
