Keinan Davis was pleased to start the season with a goal against Burton Albion on Tuesday night.

The striker was introduced as a substitute in the 71st minute with the game locked at 1-1.

And after Jack Grealish had put Aston Villa ahead, Davis was on hand to seal the deal with a well-taken finish in stoppage time.

The goal was the 22-year-old’s first since his strike in the Second Round of last season’s Carabao Cup, and he was happy to get off the mark.

He said: “It was very good. It’s been a while since I’ve scored, so it was good to get a goal in the first game.

“I’m feeling very good, I’ve had a good pre-season and I’m feeling very fit. I’m looking forward to getting going.

“Hopefully I can have more involvement than last year as I got some good experience towards the end of last season.”
