Aston Villa have enjoyed a perfect start to their Under-18 Premier League South season, winning five out of five.
The latest victory came on their travels on Saturday when they saw off fellow highflyers Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 – despite going down to ten men in the second half.
Under-18 Lead Coach Sean Verity was pleased with how his squad overcame adversity to maintain their 100% record.

“Spurs were probably the better side and they caused us some problems in the first half,” he said.
“As the half wore on, our lads fixed some of the problems they were having and we were much better in the second half.
“Getting our noses ahead in the game made them open up and try to do something different. Overall, it was a good performance.”
While Villa are five points clear at the top of the table, it hasn’t been all plain sailing for the Young Lions.
They went down to nine men in a 1-0 win at Norwich City, produced a late three-goal blitz to beat Reading 3-1 and held on to slender leads against West Brom and Leicester City.

Verity said: “It’s been a really big theme of how we’ve started: we’ve had challenges in each game.
“We were 1-0 down against Reading for 60-70 minutes and the lads solved all the stuff and came back really strongly in the last 15 minutes of that game.
“We went down to nine against Norwich and they stuck together. Once you’ve won one of those games, it bonds the group. When they face those problems again, they’ve got the answers.”
The Under-18s are back in action on Saturday when they host Fulham at Bodymoor Heath.
