The October international break sees a host of Aston Villa players, of all age groups, swap claret and blue to proudly pull on the colours of their respective nations.

Here we take a look at those Villans who will be away from Bodymoor Heath on international duty over the coming weeks.

England

Villa captain Jack Grealish and centre-back Tyrone Mings have been called up for England duty.

The Three Lions have named a 30-man squad for their fixtures against Wales (08/10), Belgium (11/10) and Denmark (14/10), with all three matches taking place at Wembley.

There has also been a host of international recognition for Villa’s Academy, with a total of SEVEN players earning call-ups for the Young Lions. 👏

Jacob Ramsey (Under-20s), Kaine Kesler (Under-19s), Louie Barry, Carney Chukwuemeka, Aaron Ramsey, Seb Revan (Under-18s) and Ben Chrisene (Under-17s) have all been called up.

Scotland

John McGinn

Midfielder John McGinn has been called up by Scotland for their crucial October fixtures.

Scotland host Israel in their eagerly-anticipated Euro 2020 Play-Off Semi-Final (08/10), before Nations League matches against Slovakia (11/10) and Czech Republic (14/10). All three games take place at Hampden Park.

Republic of Ireland

 

Conor Hourihane

Midfielder Conor Hourihane will represent Republic of Ireland for their crunch October triple-header.

Ireland travel to Slovakia for their crucial Euro 2020 Play-Off Semi-Final (08/10), before Nations League fixtures at home against Wales (11/10) and away to Finland (14/10).

Brazil

Douglas Luiz in action for Brazil

Douglas Luiz has been called up by Brazil as the South American section of 2022 World Cup qualification gets underway.

The Villa midfielder will link up with his international team-mates for fixtures against Bolivia (09/10) and Peru (13/10).

Argentina

Emiliano Martinez has been named in Argentina's squad for their World Cup qualifiers.

The goalkeeper, who is yet to make his senior international bow, joins his national side for their fixtures against Ecuador (08/10) and Bolivia (13/10).

Zimbabwe

Midfielder Marvelous Nakamba will join his Zimbabwe team-mates for their friendly against Malawi (11/10).

Burkina Faso

Summer signing Bertrand Traore will link up with Burkina Faso for their friendlies against DR Congo (09/10) and Madagascar (12/10).

Poland

Goalkeeper Oliwier Zych, a summer signing for the club’s Academy, will meet up with Poland’s Under-17s.
