At the start of the season, Aston Villa's shirt sponsor Cazoo announced their 'Golden Goals' initiative, which means that for every goal that the Aston Villa men's team score, the Aston Villa Foundation receive £1000 to go towards some amazing community projects.

One of these projects involves Geevan, who attends our Premier League Kicks sessions and is a talented DJ. In order to help him fully embrace his passion for music, the Foundation will be purchasing a DJ system to allow him to develop his skills, DJ at Foundation events and mentor other young people who are also involved in the Kicks programme.

He is someone we feel is destined to achieve success in music. Geevan is a man on a mission. He loves music and it oozes out of every fibre of his being. He is the Grealish, Rooney, or Beckham of music, a real talent in the making.

Education Officer/Geevan's Mentor

James Lowbridge, Interventions Mananger, said: "Geevan is a young person who we have been working with at one of our PL Kicks Youth Clubs at Holford Drive Sports Hub. He has had a few issues in his life, which has caused a few concerns, therefore he was referred onto the Villa Intervention Programme.

"On VIP, Geevan is being mentored on a weekly basis to help him develop confidence and skills, based around his interests to trigger a behavioural change. Music and sport are his passion, therefore we have looked at ways in which we can inspire and motivate him to be empowered to become a more responsible young man.

"The Cazoo funding has helped purchase some key equipment to allow for Geevan’s passion for music grow and develop, where he will be given responsibilities to peer mentor other young people to enhance their music skills, as well as lead on DJing at Foundation events."
