Gemma Davies claimed Aston Villa's resounding win over Bristol City was down to 'a matter of time'.
Villa put their opponents to the sword on Wednesday evening, winning 4-0 in what was deemed to be a 'relegation clash' in the buildup.
Braces from Ramona Petzelberger and Shania Hayles helped Davies' side to a second league win of the season, and the Head Coach was jubilant after the game.
“There’s a feeling of immense satisfaction" said Davies of the mood in the changing room on Wednesday night.
"We rose to the occasion. We performed. Ultimately, we’ve executed the plan. We’ve scored four very good goals, we’ve kept a clean sheet, and we’re walking away with three points.”
Villa have often come to rue missed chances in several games so far this season.
When asked if this kind of result had been coming, Davies told VillaTV the nature of Wednesday's game resulted in such a good performance.
“We’ve been growing, slowly" she admitted.
"The growth has been particularly evident over recent weeks."
