Aston Villa Women secured a huge win in the Barclays FA Women's Super League on Wednesday, beating Bristol City 4-0 at Twerton Park.
Ramona Petzelberger and Shania Hayles both netted doubles as Villa's front line wreaked havoc all evening.
Billed as a game with significant ramifications in this season's relegation battle, this result will bring an incredible amount of satisfaction for Gemma Davies and co.
The result lifts Villa up to ninth in the league table, with a visit to Tottenham Hotspur to come on Sunday.
Davies made a couple of changes from the side that were edged out by Manchester United on Saturday.
Asmita Ale came in at right-back for Ella Franklin-Fraiture, while Nadine Hanssen started ahead of Sophie Haywood.
The opening exchanges were tense and cagey, but Villa slowly gained their footing and grew into the game.
Caro Siems energetically burst forward down the left midway through the opening period, but couldn't quite find Hayles with a through-ball.
Villa then had a couple of headed attempts through Marisa Ewers and Hayles, but couldn't test Sophie Baggaley in the City goal.
The home side were just starting to force the issue at the other end when Emma Follis robbed Flo Allen of possession in the left corner.
The forward then drove into the City area before squaring across goal for Ramona Petzelberger, playing in a more advanced position, to slide home and put Villa in front just before the break.
Villa didn't take long to double their lead once the second half was underway.
Having just seen Ale miraculously clear a City effort off the line, Villa raced up the other end in double-quick time, resulting in Hayles squeezing the ball in from a tight angle to send the visitors into jubilant scenes.
Moments later, Hayles turned provider in presenting Petzelberger with a carbon copy of her first effort, and the German made no mistake in adding to Villa's lead.
Hayles then capped an outstanding display with her second of the night, driving one across Baggaley from the left-hand side of the area.
The full-time whistle was met with roars of elation and belief, and this group will go into the remaining two fixtures of the calendar year with a renewed sense of confidence.
