Stine Larsen is "excited and honoured" to join Aston Villa following her move from French side FC Fleury 91.

Speaking to VillaTV, the Denmark international says it’s a great time to be joining the newly-crowned Championship winners.

“It’s good to finally be here” said the 24-year-old striker.

“It really is great. It’s good to be part of this journey they’re on.

“I can’t wait to contribute.”

Larsen arrives with plenty of experience despite her young age, having already earned 45 senior caps to go along with her achievements at club level.

“I played in Denmark for 11 years for Brondby where we achieved a lot” said Larsen.

“We won championships and cups and we reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.”

Looking ahead, Larsen explains her view of the Women’s Super League as the toughest in the world, embracing the challenges that lie ahead.

“The English league is very competitive.

“The best teams are in France but here, it seems like every team is good.

“It’s very exciting.”

The Super League season is aiming for a start date of 5-6 September.
