Ramona Petzelberger admits she "didn’t have to think long" before deciding to move to Aston Villa from SGS Essen.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder has spent the duration of her career in her native Germany but feels ready for a "new step".
Speaking to VillaTV for the first time, Petzelberger said: “It’s a new experience for me, but I like it and I’m happy here now.”
Alongside the view that the FA Women’s Super League is the best in the world at present, Petzelberger revealed a new team-mate of hers played an equally important part in the move.
“I knew a lot (about Aston Villa) because Marisa Ewers is a good friend of mine," she added.
“She’s taught me a lot, so yes I’m prepared!
“I think the English league is the best in the world at the moment, with the best players and the best teams.
“I’m very excited to be part of it."
