The Aston Villa Foundation is currently accepting schools onto its free 10-week Premier League Primary Stars programme.

The programme uses a kinaesthetic learning approach to educate children, bringing subjects to life and helping them to develop important life skills along the way.

The programme is currently being safely delivered to follow government and individual school guidelines and works with targeted ‘bubbles’ as set out by each school.

Open to schools in the Perry Barr, Ladywood and Erdington constituencies, the programme also supports teachers in the delivery of high-quality Physical Education lessons and is a great way to enhance skills and knowledge.

90% of teachers who took part in the programme over the 19/20 season said that the programme had increased their pupils’ demonstration of at least one key life value and 95% said that the programme has developed their skills to challenge and engage all pupils to progress.

Richard Harris, Senior Learning Mentor at Anderton Park Primary School, said: “The time we had working with the Foundation was amazing, the programme itself is so important and all of the children that took part have said how great it was and have already been asking for something similar again in the future. I thank the Foundation for the entire programme we received, it was a real joy.”

Teachers and schools are supported throughout the programme by the Foundation’s dedicated team of coaches and project leads, including Alex who worked with Anderton Park Primary School whilst they completed the programme.

“Alex was amazing to work with, both our members of staff who had PE CPD from Alex felt incredibly supported throughout the intervention,” Harris said.

“For myself, working with him, mostly after school, it was a pleasure to have him here helping our children and myself.

“He was incredibly professional, passionate and knowledgeable but most importantly he was approachable and understanding if there were any late changes to his day.

“He is a real asset to the Foundation, and we would love to work with him or your team again in the future.”
