FT - Villa 3-0 Rotherham [Weimann 19, Benteke 40, Delph 53]
First-half report
It wasn't long before Villa took control of this Capital One Cup second round tie.
Andreas Weimann found the net after 19 minutes with a stunning deadlock-breaker from outside the box.
After collecting the ball on half-way, the Austrian made a driving run towards the Rotherham penalty area.
His initial effort rebounded back to him off a defender, but Weimann unleashed a superbly-struck follow-up which looped over goalkeeper Scott Shearer and nestled in the top corner.
And, on 40 minutes, Christian Benteke timed his run perfectly to convert Gabby Agbonlahor's right-wing cross with a powerful header.
To be fair to the Millers, they made a bright start to the game and have certainly been no pushovers.
Alex Revell had a golden opportunity early on in the tie but miscued his effort from close range.
Ben Pringle also fired just wide with a left-foot strike in first-half stoppage time.
