Southampton v Villa: Albrighton says Holman is unstoppable!

By Paul Brown

Marc Albrighton would congratulate Brett Holman on his stunning performance against Swansea - if he could catch up with him!

Albrighton joked that Holman can't even sit still for his lunch in the canteen at Bodymoor Heath because he's always on the move - just like he was at Villa Park on Saturday.

Albrighton thinks his fellow wideman will continue this "magnificent" form into the Southampton game on Saturday.

The 22-year-old also maintained that there's much more to Holman's game than just running, with the former AZ Alkmaar star hailed as a man of real craft going forward too.

He said: "Brett has been fantastic in training and at the weekend he was magnificent.

"He put in an absolutely brilliant performance against Swansea. He worked his socks off and his general play was fantastic too.

"It's going to be an uphill task to get back into that team, it's not going to be easy but I will definitely be up for it.

"Brett never stops moving, I don't think I've seen him sit down for a meal in the canteen! He probably can't sit still!

"The guy can run forever, he will run all day for you. But it's not about him being a running man, he finds the passes for you too. He's got far more strings to his bow than just running.

"He's good on the ball, he can find the killer pass and he will score goals too.

"He's been a good addition. There are several new faces this season and there's a lot of competition all over the pitch.

"If you just look at the bench and the lads who didn't make the bench against Swansea, it just shows the strength of depth now.

"Now it's about building on the win against Swansea. Hopefully we can press forward now, starting against Southampton."
