Josh Feeney joined Aston Villa’s Academy from Fleetwood Town in July 2021. He has been a regular feature for the club's Under-21 side, while also appearing on the bench for the first team.

The young centre-back was named on the substitutes bench for the senior side a couple of times during the 2021/22 season before he signed his first professional deal with the club in July 2022. Feeney was then included on the first team's pre-season tour of Australia, where he featured against Leeds United. 

In July 2023, Feeney put pen-to-paper on a new long-term deal with the club. He spent the second half of the 2023/24 season on loan at Real Unión, where he made eight appearances.

Feeney has also captained England at Under-16 level.
