Bio
Aston Villa signed Robin Olsen on loan in January 2022 before making the transfer permanent after the conclusion of the season. The Sweden international has proven to be an important part of the squad as No2 to Emiliano Martinez.
The goalkeeper made his debut for the club on the final day of the 2021/22 Premier League season as Villa took on Manchester City at Etihad Stadium. Olsen played four times during the course of the 2022/23 campaign, memorably keeping a clean sheet as Villa beat Tottenham Hotspur on New Year's Day.
In his youth, Olsen spent time at a number of Swedish clubs, including Malmö, before making his senior breakthrough at IF Limhamn Bunkeflo. A move abroad to PAOK in Greece led onto spells at Copenhagen and then Roma. He joined Everton on loan during the 2020/21 season and made 11 appearances for the Toffees.
At international level, Olsen has over 50 caps for Sweden and played all five of their games at the 2018 World Cup as they reached the quarter-finals.
