Bio
Pau Torres joined Aston Villa from Villarreal in July 2023. The defender moved to England having been with the Spanish side since he was six-years-old.
He made a total of 39 appearances during his maiden campaign in claret and blue, scoring his first goal away at Wolverhampton Wanderers in October and helping Villa reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League.
The Spaniard enjoyed 34 outings in 2024/25 en route to the quarter-finals of the Champions League and semi-finals of the FA Cup at Wembley.
Torres arrived at Villa Park with plenty of experience in European competitions across the Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League and Super Cup.
He also played every minute of Villarreal’s Champions League campaign in 2021/22 as they reached the last four. The crowning moment of his career so far came when he lifted the Europa League title in 2021, helping the Spanish side beat Manchester United on penalties.
Internationally, Torres has been a regular for Spain, winning a Nations League runners-up medal in addition to playing in Euro 2020 and the 2022 World Cup. He also won a silver medal at the 2020 Olympics.
