Emi Martínez has been awarded the 2024/25 Premier League Save of the Season for his incredible stop against Nottingham Forest at The City Ground.

The Aston Villa goalkeeper produced a stunning reflex save against The Reds on December 14, which duly scooped the Premier League Save of the Month honour.

Nicolás Domínguez thought he'd scored for the hosts with a close-range header in the second half, only to see Martínez show amazing reflexes and flexibility to somehow claw his effort off the goal-line.

It is the first time the Argentina international World Cup winner has collected the Premier League award, adding to his ever-growing collection of honours.

Martínez was nominated alongside David Raya (Aston Villa v Arsenal), Andre Onana (Crystal Palace v Manchester United), Robert Sanchez (Chelsea v Nottingham Forest), Andre Onana (Ipswich Town v Manchester United), Martin Dubravka (Newcastle United v Wolves), Kepa Arrizabalaga (Bournemouth v Wolves), David Raya (Manchester United v Arsenal), Guglielmo Vicario (Chelsea v Tottenham Hotspur), Kepa Arrizabalaga (Bournemouth v Aston Villa).

Supporters had until Friday to choose their favourite from the nine Save of the Month winners, plus one standout save in May, with the public vote combined alongside those of a panel of experts to determine the winner.

Congratulations, Emi!
