Ollie Watkins made Aston Villa history on Saturday, becoming the club’s leading all-time Premier League goalscorer.
A 75th top-flight goal in claret and blue took the England frontman clear of Gabby Agbonlahor’s tally of 74, as he guided Morgan Rogers’ cross home to seal a 1-0 win on the road at the Vitality Stadium over Bournemouth.
Watkins has proved a prolific and often unstoppable threat in the final third for the Villans since arriving from Brentford in 2020, with Saturday’s strike meaning he has now notched 30 goal involvements in all competitions in back-to-back campaigns.
