Europe again as Ollie breaks the record

The 2024/25 season is drawing to a close at Aston Villa, but things are still as busy as ever across each of our teams, as we put another three wins on the board over the past week. 

Last Thursday, our under-18s followed up their FA Youth Cup triumph by beating Leicester City 1-0 at Bodymoor Heath to secure the Under-18 Premier League South title as the academy continues to flourish. 

Then, Saturday's action saw both Villa's men's and women's sides secure three points, Natalia Arroyo's charges closing their campaign with five straight wins having beaten Brighton at Villa Park, before Unai Emery's men made it back-to-back Premier League wins to maintain their hunt for Champions League football in 2025/26.

A successful Saturday evening 

Villa made it back-to-back Premier League wins on the road at Bournemouth over the weekend, as three points secured their place in European competition next season, for the third year running. 

Ollie Watkins - whose goal saw him become the club's all-time leading goalscorer in the top flight - led the celebrations on social media...

Ending the season with a bang

The weekend also saw the Villans conclude their Barclays Women's Super League campaign with a 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion at Villa Park, ensuring they ended the season in the top half of the table, in sixth place.

Another positive academy week

Jimmy Shan's under-18s continued their impressive campaign by defeating Leicester City on Thursday to claim the Under-18 Premier League South title, with new contracts also agreed for youngsters George Hemmings and Ewan Simpson.
