Youri Tielemans has been crowned Aston Villa’s Player of the Month for April 2025.
The Belgian kept up his imperious form as the season entered its penultimate month, and was voted for by the Villa supporters after featuring in all eight matches.
Tielemans scored once and registered a further four assists in all competitions as the Villans stretched their winning run in the Premier League to five games.

April started well for Tielemans and his team-mates, with a 3-0 win on the road at Brighton & Hove Albion closely followed up by a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest at Villa Park, the midfielder dinking a trademark ball over the top to assist Morgan Rogers’ early opener.
And Tielemans would lay the ball on a plate for Rogers again just four days later in the Champions League, sending the travelling supporters into euphoria at the Parc des Princes as Unai Emery’s men took the lead against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their quarter-final tie.
Back in league action, the 28-year-old assisted for the third game running that weekend, with another perfectly-weighted ball over the top finding Ollie Watkins’ run at Southampton, the striker lifting the ball brilliantly over Aaron Ramsdale on the volley, as Villa recorded a 3-0 win.

The second leg of the Champions League quarter-final three days later saw Tielemans score his fifth goal of the campaign, putting Villa on the board 11 minutes before the break with a deflected effort, on their way to winning 3-2 on another memorable European night at Villa Park, narrowly falling short on aggregate by a 5-4 scoreline.
Villa returned to Premier League action that weekend, and responded to midweek disappointment perfectly with an emphatic 4-1 win over Newcastle United in B6. Tielemans recorded his fifth goal involvement in five games, threading a ball through for Watkins to send a deflected effort home with just 33 seconds on the clock.

The month would end in disappointment for the Villans, though there would be a personal milestone for Tielemans who racked up his 50th appearance of the season in a last-gasp 2-1 defeat away at Manchester City – more than any other Villa player – having started all of these games.
Another 90 minutes then followed at Wembley in the final game of the month, as Emery’s men bowed out of the FA Cup at the semi-final stage with a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.

In total, Tielemans completed 90 minutes in five of Villa’s eight games throughout April, missing just 37 minutes of action during the whole month.
Thank you to everyone who voted and congratulations, Youri!
