Youri Tielemans has been ruled out of Aston Villa's Premier League game against Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Belgian's absence brings to an end his record of starting every top flight fixture this season.
Manager Unai Emery was questioned about the midfielder's condition at his pre-match press conference at Bodymoor Heath on Friday.
"He's injured and he's not available for tomorrow," Emery said.
"We will test him again next week. It's a small injury and we will test him again next week. He's not available for tomorrow."
Marcus Rashford has missed the past two matches through injury and Emery said the forward will miss the team's trip to Vitality Stadium.
The manager confirmed the duo are his side's only two absentees for the clash, saying he believes in the strength of his squad to see them through.
