Pau Torres says Aston Villa are determined to get back to winning ways when they take on Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.

The club’s final four fixtures of the season begin with the Cottagers’ visit to B6, with both clubs harbouring hopes of securing European football next season.

After a late loss to Manchester City and FA Cup semi-final disappointment last week, Torres is determined to pick up three points on home turf.

“It’s obvious that we had a bad week, and we want to recover our good feelings in Villa Park in the Premier League,” he said.

“We have four games to finish the season and we want to win every game and finish in the best possible position in the Premier League. We will fight for the top five.”

The defender added: “We were with five wins in a row in the Premier League and we had good feelings as well in the Champions League when we had the loss against Manchester City in the last minute.

“We were so focused on the FA Cup. We knew it was an amazing opportunity for the club. It’s a way for a trophy and we were playing in front of our supporters at Wembley.

“In the end, we couldn’t achieve our goals in that competition, and now we are really focusing on the Premier League.”

Champions League, Europa League and Conference League spots are set to be decided in the coming weeks, with plenty of points still to play for.

Thanks to the performance of Premier League clubs in UEFA competitions this season, the top five qualify for Europe’s top competition, and that’s the aim for Torres and his team-mates.

“We just need to try to win every game,” he said.

“We know that we need results from other teams to help us, but there are still many points to play for.

“We want to win these four games and try to be in the best position that we can be.

“It’s clear that we want to finish in the top five.

“We have to win the four games and we will start this weekend against Fulham.”
