Last Time Out In The FA Cup

Villa booked their place in the final eight of the Women's FA Cup with a 3-2 win over Brighton & Hove Albion back in February.

Nikita Parris put the Seagulls ahead on the stroke of half-time at the Bescot Stadium but Anna Patten ensured her side went into the break level with an equaliser deep into stoppage time.

Quick-fire goals from Rachel Daly and Chasity Grant after the restart saw the Villans earn a 3-1 lead and place one foot into the quarter-final stage.

Parris pulled a consolation goal back for the visitors on the 72nd minute but Villa remained firm to see out the victory.

City comfortably booked their place in the quarter-finals with a 3-1 victory over Leicester City last month.

Leila Ouahabi and Kerolin both struck inside the first-half to give the side a 2-0 lead at the break before Shaw made it three to the good on the 59th minute.

Nelly Lasova found a late consolation goal for the Foxes but it wasn't enough to inspire a comback for her team.

The Last Meeting

HIGHLIGHTS | Aston Villa 2-4 Manchester City

Villa fell to a 4-2 defeat the last time these two sides met back in January.

Chasity Grant got the scoring up and running after only six minutes on the clock but two goals from Vivianne Miedema in seven minutes saw the home side have the advantage at the break.

Kirsty Hanson forced an own goal seconds after the restart as Villa looked to turn things around and earn something from the feisty encounter but further goals from Mary Fowler and Jill Roord sealed the three points for City.

Pre-Match Thoughts

"The FA Cup is special, everyone feels it. We've had some good performances in it this year and it's a competition we want to do well in so we're fully focused on this game and hopefully get the win. They're (Manchester City) a good, top team so it's going to be a hard game but it's a one off game and that's the magic of the FA Cup. We're going to go in it to win it and fight until the end"
