Aston Villa hosted its latest VillaWorks networking event at Villa Park last week, which saw the club's Official Cyber Security Partner, eSentire, present on the essentials of cyber security.

Networking and breakfast was enjoyed during the morning session on Wednesday, June 18 before eSentire's presentation advised businesses of all levels on how they can be more cyber resilient.

Three former Villa defenders - Nathan Baker, Alan Wright and Kenny Swain - were in attendance on the day, taking part in a Q&A session hosted by Alan McInally to discuss the defensive parallels between football and cyber security, such as anticipating and staying ahead of threats, being prepared and analysing response and dealing with attackers under pressure.

Villa's B6 home welcomed over 50 attendees from local businesses, including many from the club's partner network.

Manny Leon, eSentire Senior Territory Manager, said: “It was a real pleasure to speak at the recent VillaWorks Networking event. Helping local businesses understand the importance of cyber security is something I care deeply about.

“Cyber threats aren’t just aimed at large companies anymore — smaller businesses are just as vulnerable, and it’s more important than ever that they take steps to ensure their organisation is cyber resilient.”
