Aston Villa were proudly represented at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery on Wednesday for the opening of the Ozzy Osbourne ‘Working Class Hero’ exhibition – ahead of July’s historic homecoming concert at Villa Park.
The Prince of Darkness was honoured in the city centre in front of a select number of guests, with the exhibition formally opened by Ozzy’s wife, Sharon.
The free-to-enter display features a range of Ozzy’s awards, platinum and gold discs, prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame accolades, three of his Grammys, Hollywood Walk of Fame honour and more.
A selection of images from throughout his incredible career are also on show, along with an iconic shot of our breathtaking tifo banner unfurled in front of the Holte End earlier this season, when his beloved Villans took on Celtic in the Champions League.
The launch of the exhibition comes just 10 days before legendary rock band Black Sabbath’s historic concert at Villa Park, 'Back to the Beginning', on Saturday, July 5.
Sharon Osbourne said: “Ozzy is proof that no matter where you start in life, with passion, grit, and a little bit of madness, you can achieve the extraordinary.
“This exhibition is a thank you to the fans and the city of Birmingham – the place where it all began. We’re so proud to bring it home.”
Fans can also enjoy a free outdoor Black Sabbath photography exhibition in Victoria Square, while on nearby Navigation Street, outside New Street Station, world-famous spray artist Mr Murals has created a stunning 40-metre street-long artwork in tribute to the band.
