The upcoming 2025/26 campaign is on the horizon as another season of Women's Super League football awaits Aston Villa Women.

Who will we play?

The line-up for the 25/26 WSL season is now locked in, with one team progressing from the Championship replacing the relegated Crystal Palace.

Another away day in the capital awaits Villa as London City Lionesses will play top-flight of football for the first time in their history.

When does the season start?

The 25/26 WSL season will kick-off on the weekend of 6/7th September 2025 and will end eight months later on Sunday 17th May 2026.

The new campaign will begin 42 days after the UEFA Women's Euro Final in Switzerland.

Also, the winter break will run from Monday 22nd December, with league fixtures returning on the weekend 10/11th January.

When does the League Cup campaign begin?

The Women’s League Cup group stages will begin in late September and run until mid-November.

The quarter-final stage of the competition is scheduled for the weekend of 20th/21st December, the semi-finals will be across 21st/22nd January, and the final is due to be played on the weekend of 14/15th March.

Details for the Women’s FA Cup will be announced in due course.

When is the transfer window?

The summer transfer window for WSL clubs will open on Wednesday 18th June 2025 and will close on Thursday 4th September 2025.

The winter transfer window opens between Friday 2nd January 2026 and Tuesday 3rd February 2026.

Villa made eight new signings during last season's summer transfer window as Paula Tomàs, Katie Robinson, Miri Taylor, Sabrina D'Angelo, Missy Bo Kearns, Chasity Grant, and Gabi Nunes all put pen-to-paper with Jill Baijings joining on a season long loan.
