Wednesday's edition of the News & Record is packed with exclusive interviews and insight, including Legends Columns from David Platt and Lee Hendrie.

Alan McInally recounts his decision to make the move from Glasgow to Birmingham, while Stiliyan Petrov is our feature interview.

The Bulgarian spent seven years at both clubs and enjoyed many great moments in the colours of Celtic and Villa.

“Having had the pleasure of working with Martin O'Neill for five years at Celtic, it was great to have that opportunity again,” comments Petrov on his switch from G40 to B6.

“That was one factor that appealed to me in respect to joining Aston Villa. But I was also attracted by the club, its rich history and moving from one incredible fanbase to another.”

“There were ups and downs for me in my first few seasons at Villa,” says Petrov.

“I went through a difficult spell when Martin O’Neill left me out of the team for nearly three months and there was talk of loaning me to a lower division club. But this is all part of the fight for a player.

“My first two seasons were a learning curve; understanding that I hadn’t achieved what I wanted to, realising I needed to improve and to change things in my training regime. I was also competing for a place in the team with top class players. But I was ready for the fight.”
