Liverpool took the lead shortly before the half-hour through Mo Salah, but Villa quickly hit back, as goals from Youri Tielemans and Ollie Watkins saw them take a 2-1 lead into the half-time break.
But the visitors rallied after the break to take a point back to Merseyside, thanks to Trent Alexander-Arnold's deflected equaliser, as Villa stretched their unbeaten home streak to 13 games.
