Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio were handed their first Aston Villa starts against Liverpool.
The duo, having each enjoyed two substitute appearances since their arrival, were named in Unai Emery’s line-up to face the Reds at Villa Park.
Rashford and Asensio were two of three changes to the side who started Saturday’s Premier League draw against Ipswich Town, with Tyrone Mings also coming into the XI.
Boubacar Kamara missed out due to injury, while Jacob Ramsey and Donyell Malen were named among the substitutes.
Captain John McGinn, meanwhile, enjoyed the 500th club appearance of his career, including 266 for Villa.
