Enzo Barrenechea, Álex Moreno, Kaine Kesler-Hayden and Louie Barry were among the players in action for their loan clubs over the weekend.

For Kesler-Hayden, it was another 90 minutes for Preston North End - who drew 1-1 with Derby County in the Championship - while Barrenechea and Moreno played 75 minutes and 73 minutes respectively for Valencia and Nottingham Forest. The Spanish side returned to La Liga action with a 4-2 home win over Real Betis, while Forest fell 3-0 at Arsenal in the Premier League.

It was Barry who again grabbed the headlines in League One, becoming the EFL's leading goalscorer on Saturday, as his loan club Stockport County triumphed 3-0 on the road at Burton Albion.

Barry had a part to play in all three goals at the Pirelli Stadium, in a game which saw him take his season tally to 14 goals in 18 games in all competitions, with 13 in 17 in the league putting him three clear of his closest rival.

Lewis Bate broke the deadlock for the Hatters half an hour in, but the goal was all Barry's hard work. The 21-year-old picked up the ball on the edge of his own penalty area, driving the length of the field before being thwarted by the Burton defence, allowing Bate to steal in and score.

Twelve minutes later, Barry had a goal of his own. Receiving a flick-on from Kyle Wootton, he cut inside and curled an effort into the bottom corner.

And a dazzling performance was capped off by a superb, solo second, just before the hour mark. Barry took the ball on the halfway line and turned Terence Vancooten inside out on his way into the penalty area, before again bending a sumptuous effort into the far corner past Max Crocombe.

The win took Dave Challinor's side up to third in League One, with Barry having netted eight goals in his last eight games.

Elsewhere in the Championship on Saturday, Lewis Dobbin played 20 minutes off the bench for West Bromwich Albion who drew 2-2 at home to Norwich City.

Sunday saw Philippe Coutinho introduced at half-time for Vasco Da Gama, as they lost 3-1 at Corinthians in Série A. Leander Dendoncker was a 62nd-minute substitute for Anderlecht, who romped to a 6-0 win over Gent in the Belgian Pro League, while Samuel Iling-Jr was an unused substitute for Bologna.

In Spain's Primera Federación Group A, James Wright played 90 minutes in goal for Real Unión, who lost 1-0 at home to Ourense.
