Aston Villa wrapped up their Under-18 Premier League South campaign with a 4-2 reverse against Leicester City at Bodymoor Heath.

The Young Lions opened the scoring courtesy of George Hemmings, only for Toby Ononaye, Kirsten Otchere and Jake Evans to fire the Foxes into a 3-1 lead.

Luka Lynch responded for the hosts to set up a grandstand finish, however Otchere bagged his second of the encounter in injury time to wrap up the points for Leicester.

The defeat left Villa 12th in the final standings, with 17 points from 24 matches at the end of the season.

Hemmings opened the scoring for Villa midway through the first half with a left-footed strike from distance into the bottom corner.

But City turned the game around in the space of eight first-half minutes as Ononaye levelled on the half-hour mark and then Otchere found the net to fire the Foxes ahead at the break.

Villa continued to push for a leveller but it was Leicester who added a third in the 64th minute courtesy of Evans’ finish.

Lynch set up a nervy finale when he reduced the arrears with 12 minutes remaining, leaving Villa searching for a late equaliser.

Yet all hopes of final-day reward were ended in injury time as Otchere registered his second of the clash following a swift counter-attack.
