The goalkeeper saved Ecuador's first two spot kicks to help his country to a 4-2 win in a penalty shootout.
Martínez dived to his left to save Angel Mena's effort before following it up by diving in the opposite direction to deny Alan Minda.
The match went straight to penalties after the 90 minutes ended with the score at 1-1.
