Aston Villa is pleased to announce that James Wright has signed a new contract with the club.
The young goalkeeper joined the Academy at the age of 16 and has since featured for both the Under-18s and Under-21s.
Wright, 19, made his first appearance in a senior squad when he was named on the bench against Everton earlier this month.
Academy manager Mark Harrison is very happy with Wright’s progress.

“We are delighted that James has signed a new contract,” he said.
“Since he joined us as a 16-year-old, James has been a role model in terms of his behaviours on and off the pitch.
“There is no doubt his development has flourished because of this and the hard work of the staff, in particular Mark Naylor and Michael Pearce from our goalkeeping department, with great support from Francisco Javier Garcia the first team Goalkeeping Coach.
“We look forward to seeing how James develops over the next few years.”
Congratulations, James!
