Bertrand Traoré’s Burkina Faso secured their place in the Round of 16 at the Africa Cup of Nations despite a 2-0 defeat to Angola.
Traoré, having twice stepped off the bench to find the net in the Stallions’ first two matches, started their final Group D encounter on Tuesday night.
The Aston Villa forward completed 76 minutes but could not help his side secure reward as they suffered their first defeat of the tournament.
However, runners-up Burkina Faso qualified for the knockout stages with four points from their group stage campaign.
The 2021 AFCON semi-finalists will now face the winners of Group E in the last 16 next Tuesday.
