Louie Barry got back on the scoring trail in his penultimate game for loan club Stockport County on Sunday, in their 1-1 draw away at Rotherham United.
The forward will return to Aston Villa in January, following Stockport’s clash with Birmingham City on New Year’s Day.
Picking up Ibou Touray’s pass 35 yards out at the AESSEAL New York Stadium, Barry jinked away from Liam Kelly and surged towards goal.
His effort bent into the bottom corner to put Dave Challinor’s side ahead in South Yorkshire in the 13th minute, though Hakeem Odoffin’s response six minutes later saw the spoils shared.

Elsewhere in League One, Josh Feeney again completed 90 minutes for Shrewsbury Town, in their 1-1 draw at home to Northampton Town. Tommi O’Reilly was an unused substitute.
Lino Sousa was back in action for Bristol Rovers, coming off the bench for the final 22 minutes of their 3-0 defeat at Stevenage.

In the Championship, Kaine Kesler-Hayden continued to impress for Preston North End, with another 90 minutes in their 3-1 win at home to Sheffield Wednesday. Lewis Dobbin played nine minutes off the bench for West Bromwich Albion, in a 1-1 draw with Wednesday’s Steel City rivals, Sheffield United.
In League Two, Filip Marschall returned to his former loan club MK Dons with current side Crewe Alexandra, with the two teams playing out a 1-1 draw, while Rico Richards started and played 60 minutes of Port Vale’s 3-0 defeat at Grimsby Town. Across Europe, Monday saw Samuel Iling-Jr remain an unused substitute for Bologna, who lost 3-2 at home to Hellas Verona.
