Aston Villa Women returned from a three-week break with a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea on Wednesday evening.
Anna Leat was sent off inside the opening five minutes for intentionally handling the ball outside the penalty area to put Villa on the backfoot almost immediately.
Aggie Beever-Jones and Maika Hamano struck before half-time and Kadeisha Buchanan headed home a third to seal the victory for the hosts.
Carla Ward made three changes from the side that started our 2-2 draw with Leicester City over three weeks ago.
Dan Turner, Adriana Leon and Alisha Lehmann made way for Sarah Mayling, Miri Taylor and Simone Magill, respectively.
It was a first start in claret & blue for Taylor following her move from Liverpool in January, while Magill was making her 100th WSL appearance.

The game got off to the worst possible start inside five minutes when Leat was shown a straight red card for handling the ball outside the penalty area.
But if a silver lining could be drawn from a moment of misfortune, it was 17-year-old Sophia Poor coming on for her Aston Villa debut.
Villa were forced to retreat from that point onwards, but they did pose a threat on the counter attack when Jordan Nobbs blasted over the bar from the edge of the area.
But their resistance at the other end was broken on 18 minutes when Beever-Jones hooked in an effort from a Niamh Charles cross.
The hosts doubled their advantage shortly before half-time when Hamano scrambled the ball home from close range.
With a multi-goal deficit and a sending off to contend with, Villa knew the second half would largely entail damage limitation.
But further damage was inflicted when Buchanan headed home from a corner just after the hour mark to add some gloss to the scoreline.

Villa were able to keep the hosts out for the remaining 30-or-so minutes and they will now shift their focus to a clash with West Ham United at Villa Park next weekend.
