Aston Villa were undone 4-0 by Southampton in the Under-18 Premier League South on Saturday.
The Young Lions fell behind after just four minutes as Trialist B opened the scoring, before Princewill Ehibhatiomhan doubled the visitors’ advantage shortly afterwards.
Trialist B bagged his second of the clash for Saints soon after half-time and Alejandro Rodriguez added a fourth in the 61st minute.
Villa are back in action next Thursday as they host Brighton & Hove Albion at Bodymoor Heath.

Saints took an early lead as Trialist B received the ball six yards out, turned and fired beyond Sam Lewis into the far corner.
Goalkeeper Lewis came to Villa’s rescue shortly afterwards to stop Rodriguez’s attempt on the goal-line.
Trai-Varn Mulley found the side-netting for the hosts but Ehibhatiomhan soon added a second for Southampton from a tight angle.
The visitors went close on a couple of occasions before Mulley was twice thwarted by Saints stopper Dylan Moody.
Southampton flew out of the blocks at the start of the second half as Lewis made a superb reaction save to keep out a header from Thierry Rohart-Brown after Ehibhatiomhan’s long-range strike had rebounded off the woodwork.
On onrushing Lewis was at it again to deny Aston Daley but there was nothing he could do to prevent Trialist B making it 3-0 in the 55th minute.
The home side were given a let-off when Rodriguez capitalised on a defensive error but hit a post with the goal at his mercy.
Yet Rodriguez did get on the scoresheet just after the hour mark to add a fourth and leave Villa empty handed.
