Weston broke the deadlock in the ninth minute to put Rovers in command early on, capitalising on his opening to fire past James Wright.
Rovers ‘keeper Nicholas Michalski was called into action to deny Finley Munroe and Moore as Villa searched for an immediate route back into the clash.
But it was Blackburn who doubled their advantage in the 19th minute as Wood received the ball from Tom Bloxham before converting to make it 2-0.

But Villa needed just five minutes shortly after the interval to turn the game around.
Moments after Michalski had thwarted Moore from close range, Richards drilled home to give Villa a lifeline.
And it was one they more than took advantage of as Moore levelled the encounter in the 55th minute courtesy of a well-taken finish.
Moore then bagged again just a minute later as his strike from the edge of the area found the net to complete a stunning turnaround.
Villa’s defence stood firm in the latter stages, James Wright coming to the rescue, as the visitors claimed an impressive triumph.
