Aston Villa registered a club-record 22 Premier League wins in a calendar year as they triumphed 2-1 at Tottenham Hotspur.

Ollie Watkins and Pau Torres fired the visitors to all three points after Giovani Lo Celso’s opener, ensuring 2023 has seen Villa claim the club’s highest number of top-flight wins since 1980.

The high-flying Villans also recorded a third successive league win over Spurs for the first time since the mid-90s.
