Diego Carlos made his long-awaited return from injury on Saturday and VillaTV have been there every step of the way over the last nine months to chart his Road to Recovery.

The Brazilian centre-back, a summer signing from Sevilla, ruptured his Achilles tendon in the closing stages of August’s Premier League clash against Everton at Villa Park – only his second appearance in claret and blue.

Carlos described it as “the worst injury in my career” as he underwent his first operation to repair the damage.

And VillaTV have followed his subsequent journey behind the scenes, from rehabilitation in the gym, physio room and pool, to removing his protective boot, our mid-season training camp in Dubai, getting back on the grass, returning to friendly match action and improving his English off the pitch.

Featuring interviews throughout his recovery process, Carlos also spoke to VillaTV after he appeared as a 65th-minute substitute in Saturday’s clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux – returning to action and completing a recovery process which has taken nine months of gruelling hard work.
