Álex Moreno is enjoying life under head coach Unai Emery, saying he has been comfortable at Aston Villa since “day one”.

The flying full-back has integrated quickly into the team following a January move from Real Betis, featuring in every game since his arrival.

And Moreno believes Emery and his staff have been a key factor in him settling so quickly.

Aston Villa hosted Bournemouth at Villa Park on Saturday.

“He’s been clear with his ideas and I’ve felt comfortable since day one,” he said.

“He has achieved what he has achieved in his career and that makes him who he is as a manager.

“He has a good staff behind him who transmit his ideas to the team.

“They give confidence and we are doing really well thanks to him and his staff.

“I think his career reflects how he is as a coach and that will prepare us for the games coming up which will be tough.

“He has been quite clear with his ideas. He has always felt really comfortable from day one.

“We want to continue that and his ideas, because it seems to be working.”

Thanks to Saturday’s win against Bournemouth, which was the team’s third in four games, Villa are on the cusp of breaking into the top ten.

Moreno is keen to keep the good results coming as he targets a strong finish to the campaign.

He said: “I have a good feeling with my teammates.

“I’m very happy in the team. It was a very important win and another three points.

“Our aim is to keep getting as many points as possible and get close to the European places.”
