Diego Carlos could potentially return to Aston Villa’s matchday squad for their Premier League clash at West Ham United.
The centre-back is nearing his return to action having been sidelined since mid-August following surgery to a ruptured Achilles tendon.
And, having completed his lengthy rehabilitation programme, Carlos could be among Villa’s travelling squad to London Stadium.
However, Boubacar Kamara will miss the encounter in east London having hobbled out of last weekend’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
Philippe Coutinho also remains unavailable, while midfielder Leander Dendoncker is doubtful and will be assessed over the coming 24 hours.

Unai Emery, speaking at Friday’s pre-match media conference, said: “Kamara is not ready for Sunday but he is going well, his injury is going well.
“I was speaking to him this morning and it’s going well, but not enough for Sunday.
“Diego Carlos is training every day with his process being comfortable.
“He’s a possibility on Sunday for the first time, included in the squad, which is very good news.
“Coutinho is still injured.
“Dendoncker had a domestic accident, he is progressing this week, training with us but not involved in the normal training sessions.
“We will have to wait and he is a doubt.”
