Aaron Ramsey starred for Middlesbrough in the Championship on Saturday, scoring a brace as they ran out 5-0 winners against Reading.

The 20-year-old scored either side of half-time as the Teesiders, who also featured striker Cameron Archer, stayed third in the table.

The goals were Ramsey’s first for Middlesbrough since signing in January and took his tally to five Championship goals for the season so far.

Another Villan on the scoresheet in the second tier was Jaden Philogene, who helped Cardiff City beat Bristol City 2-0.

Marvelous Nakamba also tasted victory as Luton Town saw off Swansea City 1-0, with the Zimbabwean playing 90 minutes.

Keinan Davis came on as a half-time substitute but was unable to break the deadlock as Watford drew 0-0 against Preston North End.

There was defeat for Tim Iroegbunam and QPR, who fell to a 3-1 loss away at Rotherham.

In League One, Lamare Bogarde played the full 90 minutes as Bristol Rovers held promotion-chasing Barnsley to a 0-0 draw.

Finn Azaz was substituted after 80 minutes as Plymouth Argyle stayed second courtesy of a 2-0 success against Charlton Athletic.

Louie Barry was in action for Salford City in League Two, helping his side to beat Newport County 3-1.

Filip Marschall conceded an injury-time winner as Gateshead were left empty-handed against Chesterfield in the National League.

In Spain, Wesley came on for the final 19 minutes as Levante were beaten 3-0 at Huesca in La Liga 2.
