John McGinn was pleased to see Aston Villa pick up a much-needed home win on Saturday.
The midfielder continued his strong form with an all-action display as his side battled to a 1-0 victory against a stubborn Crystal Palace.
After back-to-back defeats at Villa Park, McGinn was happy to give the home fans three points while admitting there are things for Villa to work on moving forward.

“It was good. It’s a little bit of mixed emotions for me,” he said.
“I know we’re getting a bit greedy after three points but when they go down to ten men, we’ve got to handle that better.
“We ground out the three points, but we kept giving the ball away and I’m sure the manager won’t be pleased with the second-half performance.
“It’s a win; we’ve been craving a win here for a while, so it’s great to get the three points and have the opportunity to look up [the table] not down.”
Villa supporters voted McGinn their Man of the Match for the second week running as he continues to excel under head coach Unai Emery.

The only thing missing for the Scotsman is a goal, and he is determined to bag his first of the season soon.
He said: “The desperation [to score] probably didn’t help when I got a couple of opportunities today – the second one, I slipped.
“It was a great ball in the first instance from Leon and the second one I just lost my footing.
“It will come. I’m getting in the positions and hopefully next week is the time.”
