Leon Bailey and Jamaica picked up a point in their Concacaf Gold Cup opener against defending champions USA following a 1-1 draw in Chicago.
The Aston Villa forward, who completed 90 minutes before being replaced late on, saw his first-half penalty saved by goalkeeper Matt Turner before sending the rebound wide.
It came after Damion Lowe’s header had opened the scoring for Jamaica in the 13th minute.
The co-hosts then struck late on to secure a share of the spoils courtesy of Brandon Vazquez’s 88th-minute leveller.
It ensured the points were shared in Group A, with the Reggae Boyz next up against Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday, June 29 (ko 12.30am) before facing St Kitts and Nevis in their final group stage fixture on Monday, July 3 (ko 12am).
